Definition of TOROW Function

  • It is one of the built-in functions in Microsoft Excel.
  • The TOROW function transforms an array into a single row in the spreadsheet.
  • By default, TOROW will scan values by row, but it can also scan values by column.


  • Here, you will see the syntax of the TOROW function.
  • To apply this function on your spreadsheet, you must select a cell and enter the formula in the following format.
  • Once you enter the formula, click on the Enter button to get the result.

=TOROW (array, ignore, scan_by_column)

Argument Explanation:

  • array – The input array to transform.
  • ignore – Control to ignore blanks and errors.
  • scan_by_column – Scan array by column. TRUE = column, FALSE = row (default = TRUE).
