- EDATE Function adds the specified month to the given start date and returns the result date’s serial number.

Syntax
- Here, you will see the syntax of the EDATE function.
- To apply this function on your spreadsheet, you have to select a cell and enter the formula in the following format.
- Once you enter the formula, just click on the Enter button to get the result.
=EDATE(start_date,month)
Parameter Description:
- Start_date – Start date as a valid Excel date.
- Month – Number of months before or after start_date.

If the argument is a non-numeric value (letters and special characters) and then it returns #VALUE! Error.
