This function returns the average (arithmetic mean) of a set of input values.
AVERAGEA function evaluates logical values TRUE & FALSE as 1 and 0.

Syntax

Here, you will see the syntax of the AVERAGEA function.
To apply this function on your spreadsheet, you have to select a cell and enter the formula in the following format.
Once you enter the formula, just click on the Enter button to get the result.

=AVERAGEA(value1, [value2], …)

Arguments Explanation:

Value1 – It is the first input number or cell reference.
Value2 – It is an optional one. It is the second input number or cell reference.

Note:
1) This function ignores the Text, Empty cells, and Special symbols.
2) The arguments can be Numbers, Array, or References that contain numbers.

Examples

Let’s see some examples to understand this concept quickly.

Initially, you have to open your Excel workbook on your PC and launch a worksheet that has data.
In this screenshot, you can be able to see the input values in Columns B, C, D, and E. The output average values are listed in Column G.

Then, we have to apply the above-mentioned formula to get the result, as shown in the following screenshot.

Finally, we need to click on the Enter button to get the result. And drag down the first cell to fill the remaining cells.
